The share of electricity generation based on renewable energy resources will increase significantly in the near and middle-term future, and new wind farms will be installed worldwide. Experience gained with existing wind farms has shown that neglect of design and sizing work in the planning phase of a project may result in severe operating problems.
Siemens PTI offers:
Comprehensive interconnection studies, focusing on both steady-state and dynamic aspects as well as the necessity of reinforcements in the receiving transmission systems
Design of on-shore and off-shore wind farm networks and interconnection to the receiving power systems using HVAC and/or HVDC technology
Supporting studies like protection concepts, grounding analyses, lightning protection schemes etc.
