Silicone Rubber Surge Arresters (Tube Design)
Description
We offer two different trypes of HV surge arresters with silicone housing:
Our 3EQ and our 3EL. For both types the same MO blocks are used. This results in the same electrical performance like our arresters with porcelain housings.
3EQ1 is a metal-oxide arrester with polymer composite housing for power systems up to U
m
= 362 kV.
3EQ4 is a metal-oxide arrester with polymer composite housing for power systems up to U
m
= 550 kV.
3EQ3 is a metal-oxide arrester with polymer composite housing for power systems up to U
m
= 800 kV.
All 3EQ arresters are used in outdoor installations.

Design and Range
Range
An FRP tube is used for highest mechnical loads, and the silicone is directly molded onto the FRP tube.
The 3EQ surge arresters are available for all system voltages up to 800 kV and line discharge classes 1 to 5 as single column arresters.
For applications with even higher energy requirements, e. g. SC, SVC or HVDC systems, our 3EQ is available as a multi-column arrester.
